Mary Ellen has been an art teacher in elementary and middle schools in the Metropolitan area for over 20 years. She currently teaches in an independent school on the banks of the Magothy River and the Chesapeake Bay. Mary Ellen holds a BFA degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition to membership in CPSA 109, she is also a member of the Maryland Federation of Art (showing in the Circle Gallery, Annapolis, MD), the National Art Education Association and the Maryland State Art Teachers Association. Her colored pencil paintings have been accepted into local, state, regional, national and international juried shows. While the medium of colored pencil currently holds her artistic attention, Mary Ellen has created art in fiber, basketry, pottery, watercolor and oil pastel.
