What you need to know:
To become a member of a CPSA district chapter like DC109, you must also join the national organization. Once you’re a CPSA member, you’re eligible to join any of CPSA’s District Chapters – you don’t have to live there! The membership year for both national and local organizations begins on November 1. Dues are not prorated, but payments made on or after September 1 will be applied to the next full membership year.
Benefits of membership:
The Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA) actively promotes colored pencil as a durable, professional fine art medium both to the established art world as well as to the general public. Through its annual convention and exhibitions, CPSA also provides a continuing forum for the education and recognition of practicing colored pencil artists. As a member, you will receive the CPSA newsletter, To the Point, twice a year, along with an annual networking directory and handbook. You can also have your own art website listed on the CPSA national site, benefit from the CPSA’s product research information, and have the opportunity to achieve CPSA Signature status.

As a member of CPSA District Chapter 109 (Metro Washington D.C.), you’re welcome to join us at our six annual meetings, which offer educational programs, training in new colored pencil skills and techniques, helpful and informal critiques of your colored pencil work by your peers, and fun group “draw-ins.” You’ll also receive the DC109 newsletter, Hues and News, six times a year and have the opportunity both to have your work displayed on our website’s on-line Members’ Gallery and to participate in the Chapter’s local shows and sales of members’ colored pencil art work.
