Choices ( 2004)

I faced myself and asked for courage
the chance to pick up a cloak of silence and hide
safely beneath
No, my soul will starve!
Choose the dagger of deceit
but the wound inflicted will be returned
and never heal
or
pick the sword of honesty
it is heavy
and difficult to swing
but the cut shallow
and clean
and
will heal

Talia

From the cradle of your womb
an embrace, complete
the stained glass door
sheltered by your love
Through the arched window
the hunter does stare
and himself, hidden in the leaves
wonders at the child
hidden safely now
in her Mother’s womb
But his heart does not falter
from the duty
laid at his feet
In that nestled forest
the child is safely lost
so whole and alive
that pigmented crystal
once broken through
never to return
To remember that love
Enclosed in your arms
Even as that dark horse rider
Is fast on my heels
